Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba said that Ukraine will receive 120-140 Western tanks in the first wave of aid.

He said this during his briefing.

The Ukrainian minister emphasized that 12 states have already joined the tank coalition, but it is still too early to name them, as some still have to agree on the formalities in accordance with their legislation.

"I can only note that in the first wave of contributions, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive from 120 to 140 units of modern tanks of Western models. These are Leopard 2, Challenger 2, M1 Abrams. And we are counting on Leclerc," he said.

After putting pressure on Germany, this country agreed to transfer modern armored vehicles to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and allowed the re-export of tanks.

Other European states have also spoken about their readiness to transfer this technology.

Great Britain plans to hand over Challenger tanks to Ukraine at the end of March 2023.
