One of the fakes about the F-16 aircraft that has been circulating among the public recently needs to be refuted.

It is about the maintenance of this fighter.

Military analyst Oleksiy Hetman told "24 Kanal" about it.

According to Hetman, information began to appear that 15 to several dozen people are needed to "take care" of one such fighter.

"It's funny. Because it's true. But not really. For comparison. There are also many people who accompany him in military operations for one soldier. For each soldier there is one doctor, one company commander, one cook, one telephone operator... But these are all people they also serve other soldiers. This is how you can twist that one soldier has 15 servicemen," Hetman explained.

He emphasized that the group dealing with the plane really has 15 people.

However, they are not attached to only one conventional fighter, but serve all aircraft at the airport.

According to the analyst, the F-16 is an aircraft that first took off in the 1970s.

Since then, the plane has been modernized many times. 

"In total, about 4,500 F-16s were produced. And about three thousand are in service in 24 countries of the world. This is very useful. If, God forbid, there is some kind of "breakdown", there is a large number of personnel in Europe who have served them directly for years at airports," Hetman emphasized.

It was previously reported that 200 

aircraft are needed to protect the skies of Ukraine .

At present, the aviation group of the occupiers is five to six times superior to the Ukrainian aviation in terms of the number of combat vehicles.
