After Swami's statement, there were reports of tearing or burning of copies of Ramcharitmanas from many places.

New Delhi:

Uttar Pradesh's tallest leader Swami Prasad Maurya is in the midst of controversies these days.

He had made controversial remarks regarding Ramcharitmanas Row.

After Swami's statement, there were reports of tearing or burning of copies of Ramcharitmanas from many places.

Some of its videos also went viral.

After this there were protests against him.

AIR was also registered.

An appeal was also made to boycott the SP.

Meanwhile, a mahant of Ayodhya also offered a reward of Rs 21 lakh for beheading Swami Prasad.

NDTV had an exclusive conversation with Swami Prasad Maurya in this whole matter.

Maurya has claimed during this time that not a single copy of Ramcharitmanas was torn or burnt anywhere.

Is it justified to tear and burn texts in the name of protest?

In response to this question, SP General Secretary Swami Prasad Maurya said, 'I just want to say that any religion is for human welfare.

Human beings are meant for sanskritisation.

He said, 'First of all, let me tell you that no copy of Ramcharitmanas was neither torn nor burnt.

Whatever video of copy burning has come to the fore, it was actually the slogans written on the placards.

Some forces are trying to suppress this issue.

The matter is being distorted.

When did you start feeling that the things written in Ramcharitmanas are anti-women or unfair and should be opposed?

Why did you choose this time to protest?

Swami Prasad Maurya said, 'I left Allahabad University in 1989.

Since then I am engaged in political work.

From public forums, I have been continuously opposing the hypocrisy in the guise of religion and such facts which were presented in the form of insulting my own religious people.

I have strongly opposed this topic hundreds of times in public forums.

It is another matter that for the first time it is being discussed in international forums and politics.

If positive discussion is going on, then it is likely to have positive and pleasant results.

Maurya said, 'Some improvements have been made in the new revised copy of Ramcharitmanas.

However, every mistake-maker leaves some mistake behind.

Similarly, in Tulsidas ji's Ramcharitmanas, at one place he linked the meaning of 'Tarana' with education and at another place the meaning of 'Taran' is to kill and beat even today.

Maurya told NDTV, 'I have only one question,' Do you consider insulting women as your religion?

Have you worn religious clothes only to humiliate the tribals, dalits and backward people of this country?

Why are you refraining from giving respect to women, dalits and backward people?

Swami Prasad Maurya said for BJP, 'These people all become Hindus to get votes?

Why is this?'

On the question of people's faith being hurt in the whole matter, Maurya said, 'If it comes to faith and sentiment, then 97 per cent of the population consists of tribals, Dalits, backward and women.

The sentiments of such a percentage of people are being hurt, no one is worried about it.

Only two and a half percent or three percent of religious people's sentiments are being hurt, so it has become a big deal.

The sentiments of 97 percent people are getting hurt, they are also Hindus.

No are non.

In such a situation, it is important to hurt the sentiments of 97 per cent people or it is important to hurt the faith of 2.5-3 per cent people.

Politics is being done regarding Ramcharitmanas.

It is being said that after the controversy, SP President Akhilesh Yadav increased Maurya's stature in the party.

On the other hand, Vishwa Hindu Parishad says that Swami Prasad Maurya is not getting any good post, so he is giving such statements for the sake of name.

On these allegations, Maurya said, 'When some people consider objectionable words and behavior as their religion, how big are the hearts and minds of such people;

This can be easily guessed.

For bad thinking, all kinds of concocted bad things will be said.

Clarifying his point, Maurya said, 'I raised this matter 8-10 days back.

I became the National General Secretary of SP two days back.

So what is the relation between this matter and my becoming the National General Secretary?

Indian constitution considers all people equal.

All religions and creeds are important.

Everyone has respect.
