Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the General Budget: 2034-24 on Wednesday.

In the Economic Survey released on the first Tuesday of the General Budget, the growth rate of the country's economy has been estimated to be 6.5 percent in 2023-24 as compared to 7 percent in the current financial year.

However, according to this, India will remain the fastest growing major economy of the world.

In a special conversation with NDTV about the Indian economy, V Ananth Nageswaran, Chief Economic Advisor (CEA) of the Ministry of Finance, said, "The economic growth rate is estimated to be 7% in the financial year 2022-23, while it is 6.5% in the financial year 2023-24." It is estimated to be around 2023. Broadly, the economic growth rate in 2023-24 can be between 6 to 6.8%. However, in a cautionary tone, he said that the risk of the growth rate going down is high. From its 6.5% There is more chance of falling below 6% than rising up. 

Regarding the general budget 2023-24, he said that whether the common man will get relief in income tax or not, we will have to wait till the presentation of the budget.

Nageswaran said, "The inflation rate is high in rural areas. In such a situation, the government has implemented social welfare schemes better along with increasing the food subsidy. The government has taken initiative to control the prices of wheat. "

Expressing views on the phase of layoffs in tech companies, he said that layoffs in tech companies are a cyclical setback that occurs in private economies.

The decline in the earnings of companies is a major reason for this.

Private sector has increased investment in the first half of the current financial year, this will create new employment opportunities.  

Regarding the results of the Economic Survey, the Prime Minister said in a tweet, "The Economic Survey presents a comprehensive analysis of India's growth trajectory, including global optimism towards our nation, focus on infrastructure, growth in agriculture, industries and Including emphasis on futuristic areas.
