The special operation was carried out following an investigation by officers from the "Counteraction of Criminal Crime" sector at the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MOIA) Pernik, under the direction of the District Prosecutor's Office.

As a result of the actions carried out in the evening hours of yesterday on the territory of the municipality, four Bulgarian citizens between the ages of 28 and 38 were detected and detained.

Criminal investigators also found three motor vehicles, in one of which 31 illegal migrants were being transported, who presented themselves as citizens of Afghanistan.

According to initial data, the goal was to transfer the foreigners to another vehicle and take them out of the country.

Migrants will be transported and accommodated in a specialized center.

The four participants in the criminal scheme were initially detained for a period of 24 hours with a police measure.

By decree of the supervising prosecutor, their measure will be extended to 72 hours in order to submit a request to the court to impose a measure of remand.

A pre-trial proceeding has been initiated on the case, work on which continues.
