The Slovenian Intelligence and Security Service (Sova) has discovered in Ljubljana two foreign nationals allegedly spying for Russia, reports the Slovenian portal 24 ur.

Together with the National Investigation Service, the two were arrested.

The suspects face up to eight years in prison for espionage and providing false information.

Spanish police arrest man over letter bombs from late 2022.

According to Delo newspaper, the Russian agents operating under false identities were citizens of a South American country.

They were arrested in an office they rented in Ljubljana. 

The two alleged Russian agents are believed to have served in Russia's GRU military intelligence service.
