Ryukyu Baisha Fishing Port was shocked to hear that fishing boats were set on fire this evening.

[Reporter Chen Yanting/Pingtung Report] At about 7:00 this evening, at Baisha Fishing Port in Liuqiu, Pingtung County, a fishing boat moored in the port suddenly burst into flames. The personnel evacuated and initially assisted in extinguishing the fire. The service boat of the Ocean Patrol Unit of the Coast Guard who came to the notification happened to be equipped with a powerful water jet gun on board, and cooperated with the firefighting unit to rescue the shore, and quickly extinguished the fire.

The Xiaoliuqiu Security Inspection Office of the Fifth Coast Guard of the Southern Branch of the Coast Guard discovered at around 7 o'clock this evening that a Ryukyu-registered fishing boat was moored at the pier inside the Xiaoliuqiu Fishing Port. Surrounding ships and personnel were evacuated and initially assisted in extinguishing the fire. At the same time, the Pingtung County Government Fire Department's third brigade Ryukyu Squadron was notified to go to the rescue. Fortunately, there were no casualties after a preliminary inventory of the scene, but a "Guo Da" fishing boat was still on fire.

The Xiaoliuqiu Security Checkpoint pointed out that at 7:00 p.m., the service personnel discovered thick black smoke suddenly coming out of the "Guo" fishing boat, and immediately caught fire. They immediately notified the online service personnel in the jurisdiction and the Ryukyu Branch of the Third Brigade of the Pingtung County Fire Department to carry out the implementation Rescue, the on-site marine patrol and firefighters carried out rapid rescue. Since the fishing boat was flammable, the fire was out of control. The shore patrol unit notified that the nearby ocean patrol service boat happened to be equipped with a powerful water jet gun. After the big ship entered the port, it was immediately rescued. Coastal firefighters and shore patrol personnel echoed each other.

With the concerted efforts of the sea patrol and firefighters, the fire was quickly brought under control at 8:13 p.m., and the security checkpoint pointed out that in order to prevent oil from leaking out, the oil stop line was pulled simultaneously during fire fighting, and all fires were completed at 9:00 p.m. The location and cause of the fire and the loss of property will be further clarified by the firefighting unit.
