The Lachin Corridor is under the control of Russian peacekeepers and movement through this corridor is not restricted.

According to APA, this was said by the representative of the Azerbaijani side, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Elnur Mammadov at the hearing held at the International Court of Justice on Monday.

He stressed that Azerbaijan firmly rejects the baseless accusations of the blockade of the peaceful protests of Azerbaijanis in the Lachin corridor.

"Unfortunately, Armenia is using the peaceful action in the Lachin corridor to put pressure on the peace talks between the two countries," Mammadov said.

The diplomat noted that the Lachin corridor is under the control of Russian peacekeepers, and the movement regime along this corridor remains the same as before the protests.

The protestors themselves said that they do not intend to stop traffic, and that hundreds, if not thousands, of cars and trucks pass through the corridor every day.

It should be noted that the International Court of Justice (ICJ), the highest judicial body of the UN, held public hearings on the case of Armenia against Azerbaijan today.

Hearings on the case of Azerbaijan against Armenia will be held tomorrow.

The session will be presided over by presiding judge Joan E. Donoghue.

The hearings will be devoted to the appeal of the Republic of Azerbaijan on January 3, 2023 regarding the appointment of temporary measures to Armenia.
