The prices of dairy products have fallen, with the reduction being between 5 and 10%.

The reason is the higher production of milk in Europe, which affects the Bulgarian market as well, says the manager of a large Shumen hypermarket, Stoyan Valchev.

He adds that the first notifications have already been received from suppliers that prices are falling.

This is most noticeable for cheese and butter, while it reduces the price of yogurt less.

Thus, for 400 grams of cheese, from a promotional price of BGN 7.99 per kilogram, it is now BGN 6.99.

At regular prices of 10.50 per kilogram, it reaches 9 BGN.

Valchev's reference shows that at a price of a bucket of yogurt, around BGN 1.50-60, it reaches BGN 1.30-40.

Valchev recalled that in the fall of 2021, an increase in the prices of dairy products began, with its peak being between 20 and 30%.

Quite a serious growth was reported after the start of the war in Ukraine, as the country is a large producer of raw milk.

The lack of this milk had an impact on the lack of raw material throughout Europe and this raised prices, explains the manager, dariknews reported.
