Richard Alibegov, chairman of the Bulgarian Association of Restaurants, said that they wanted to legalize the tip so that the person who works in the field can show his work income and this income when he has to apply for a loan, a lease. He stated that these funds should be tax-free, NOVA NEWS reported.
Ivan Ivanchev, a tax consultant, is of the opinion that several questions need to be answered: whether the income will be taxable, if it is taxable, what will be taxed, what will be the tax rate and how will this be administered.
Alibegov pointed out that this practice has already been established in countries such as Italy.
Ivanchev said that tipping should have permission, but not obligation.
They commented on the mandatory or optional nature of tipping.
