CISF personnel on Sunday caught an Indian passenger with foreign currency worth Rs 64 lakh at New Delhi's Indira Gandhi Airport.

The passenger was allegedly going to Bangkok by hiding foreign currency in the handle of his trolley bag.

The officers provided this information.

During the security check at Terminal-3 of Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, the passenger was stopped when security personnel saw the images of currency notes on the X-ray scanner, officials said.

A senior official told that the passenger had to go to Bangkok by Thai Airlines flight.

The CISF personnel recovered 68,400 Euros and 5,000 New Zealand dollars worth Rs 64 lakh by using a screwdriver to remove the hidden notes, the official said.

He told that the said person has been handed over to the customs officials for further investigation.
