A drone attack was carried out on a military facility belonging to the Ministry of Defense of Iran in the center of the city of Isfahan on Saturday evening.

APA reports with reference to "Al Arabiya" publication that this was stated in the statement of the Ministry of Defense.

The statement described the incident as a "failed attack".

The ministry did not attribute responsibility for the attack to any specific country or group.

"On January 28, around 11:30 p.m., an unsuccessful attack was carried out using drones on one of the workshop complexes of the Ministry of Defense.

One drone was shot down by anti-aircraft defenses, and the other two were blown up by defense systems," the statement said.

"Fortunately, this botched attack did not cause any casualties and caused minor damage to the roof of the workshop," the ministry added.

Earlier, the deputy governor of Isfahan confirmed that an explosion took place at a facility belonging to the Ministry of Defense after a loud explosion was heard in the city.

In addition, videos of air strikes in Tabriz, Rasht, Hamedan and other cities were shared on social networks.
