The attacks against the Bulgarian clubs in Ohrid and Bitola, the brutal beating of Hristiyan Pendikov and with its inaction regarding the anti-Bulgarian events, the Republic of North Macedonia itself is blocking the process of joining the EU, said Vice President Iliana Yotova

Iliana Malinova Yotova is a Bulgarian politician, 5th Vice President of the Republic of Bulgaria.

"Bulgaria will scrutinize every action related to the language of hate. Unfortunately, with today's date we can say that regardless of the tolerance with which we accepted the French proposal, there is no progress in the work of the Mixed Historical Commission either. Especially after the latest change in the EU membership procedures, Bulgaria can at any moment stop this process and if we continue like this - I am not optimistic", Yotova added.

Rumen Radev: The case of Hristiyan Pendikov is an expression of the decade-long policy of instilling hatred towards Bulgarians

The Vice President believes that the Republic of North Macedonia should take a firm position against hate speech.

"We see neither a hint nor a rebuke to those, especially the media, in the RSM, who have long crossed the barrier of free speech and lead an extremely heavy Bulgarian-phobic campaign. We do not hear such messages from the rulers of the RSM. Well, then how should we feel and believe that they condemn what is happening in the RSM regarding the Bulgarians there," she asked.

Yotova stressed that negotiations will take place under clear conditions, among which compliance with the Good Neighbor Agreement and compliance with the rights of the Bulgarians in the RSM and their inclusion in the Constitution.

And Europe seems to avoid interfering in Bulgaria-RSM relations.
