Scientists have discovered that the way you most often sleep, in which position, provokes the development of certain health problems.

This, of course, is bad news.

But there is also a good one - to improve health, a person simply needs to change the position in which he is used to falling asleep.

"spoon" pose

  • If you sleep with your partner

    in the "spoon

" position (embracing your partner, lying facing his back), you will be able to cope with stress, or at least reduce it.

Undoubtedly, physical contact reduces the degree of psychological tension in both men and women.

However, this position increases the pain if it was already in some part of the body.

Shoulder and back pains often develop.

And if you sleep on your partner's arm or chest, your neck will hurt.

The well-known "honeymoon paralysis", when they fall asleep on their partner's shoulders and pinch his median nerve.

And this leads to the fact that in the morning the hand swells so much that it simply refuses.

If you sleep in the "baby" or "embryo" position

  • "Fetal pose",

lying on your side with bent knees will help if your lower back hurts.

A bent spine relieves the back, reduces pressure on the discs.

However, this posture can cause headaches and neck pain.

To prevent this from happening, the neck should remain at the same level as the body.

For this, you need to choose a pillow so that it is not too high or flat.

Pose "lying on your stomach"

  • The pose

    lying on your stomach

     will protect you from snoring.

But due to the increased load on the teeth, a person may start grinding his teeth in this position.

Hands may also go numb.

The pose can cause neck pain.

The position on the stomach can lead to an exacerbation of cervical osteochondrosis, because in this position the neck is unnaturally turned to the side.

Sleeping on your stomach increases wrinkles between the eyebrows and facial lines along the neck line.

If you sleep on your back

  • If you suffer from arthritis and joint pain, you will find relief if you

    sleep on your back.

This position of the body provides an even distribution of weight without overloading any one area.

At the same time, in this position, the muscles of the tongue and jaw relax, hence snoring may occur.

Asthma patients and people with heart problems can suffer in this position.

Which side is better to sleep on?

  • If you have digestive problems, try

    sleeping on your side.

This sleeping pattern helps with symptoms of acid reflux, which manifests itself as heartburn if you

    sleep on your left side.

This will prevent your stomach contents from backing up into your esophagus, preventing acid reflux.

  • The spleen is also on the left side of the body and is part of the lymphatic system, and sleeping on the left side will help it work better.

  • Because the liver is on the right side of the body, it can be overworked if you sleep on your right side.

Sleeping on the left side improves the drainage of the lymphatic system.

But the side pose increases the likelihood of wrinkles on the chin and cheeks.
