Policeman opened fire on Naba Das

New Delhi:

Health Minister Naba Das was shot near Brajrajnagar in Jharsuguda district of Odisha.

Naba Das was on his way to attend a program at Gandhi Chowk in Brajrajnagar when he was shot.

Odisha Health and Family Welfare Minister Naba Kishore Das was shot dead by an assistant sub-inspector of police in Jharsuguda district on Sunday, an official said.

Brajrajnagar SDPO Gupteshwar Bhoi told reporters, "Assistant sub-inspector of police (ASI) Gopal Das fired at the minister, injuring the minister and taking him to the hospital. Eyewitnesses claim that as soon as he got out of his vehicle, He was shot. The motive behind the attack is still unclear. A video shows Naba Das being taken away in a car.
