In its final days, the 48th parliament is about to pass a change that has lacked the political will for 14 years.

"There is a damning decision against our country, in which it was ruled by the International Court that there is no one to investigate the Prosecutor General.

Our country really needs to find a solution to this", commented the former chief prosecutor and director of the NSS Boyko Naydenov in the program "On Focus" on Nova TV.

Boyko Naydenov was born in Sofia.

In 1990, he graduated from the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs - specialty.

"If it is written in our Constitution that there is a chief prosecutor and this cannot be changed, we must think about what the figure of a chief is and why he should occupy such a central place in public and political life," commented Boyko Naydenov

After stormy scandals and debates - the National Assembly adopted 4 bills for changes in the Civil Code and rejected one

"An option should be devised so that no one knows the name of the chief prosecutor.

And whether there should be such a figure on whom every single investigation and accusation in the country depends," Naydenov believes.

"In my humble opinion, there should be no indictment against accuser number 1 at all. There should be such an order that such a thing should not be discussed.

We can't say right now that the Attorney General will commit a crime.

But if this happens, there must of course be a mechanism that allows this person to be on an equal footing with everyone else," Naydenov believes.

He does not know why no parliament has yet developed such a mechanism.

"Everyone knows what the task is and what are the ways to solve it, but there is clearly no will to do it," commented Boyko Naydenov
