Male Ukrainian officials can go abroad to visit their minor children if they are single parents, as well as in case of death of family members abroad.

This was reported by the State Border Service of Ukraine, and it is also stated in the relevant government resolution.

The DPSU noted that people's deputies and deputies of local councils, judges, prosecutors, civil servants, reserved employees and other categories of persons may travel abroad only on business trips.

However, there are several exceptions to the rules under which

departure is allowed

:

  • single parents to visit their children abroad;

  • for treatment abroad;

  • on the basis of a separate decision of the head of the DPSU, in case of death of family members abroad.

"Also, the changes regulate the procedure for the departure of military personnel, which is carried out on the basis of the decision of the Minister of Defense or another leader regarding the performance of tasks in the field of security and defense," the border guards added.

The government decree states that in exceptional cases,

officials and civil servants who are single parents of a

child/children under the age of 18 (inclusive) may be allowed to cross the state border for the purpose of visiting such children outside of Ukraine, or to accompany children to travel outside the country .

Passage across the state border is carried out by authorized persons of the State Security Service in the presence of relevant supporting documents.

Officials' leave for medical treatment

abroad is allowed when accompanied by a family member of the first degree of consanguinity.

In addition, the head of the DPSU can make a decision to allow officials to leave the country

in the event of the death abroad

of one of the family members of the first or second degree of consanguinity.

We will remind you that on January 27, the government adopted a resolution prohibiting the departure of officials abroad during the war without valid reasons.

Crossing the border is allowed only on the basis of a business trip.

This happened after the scandal with People's Deputy Mykola Tyschenko, who went to Thailand supposedly for a "meeting with the Ukrainian community."

The deputy was expelled from the Servant of the People party and the parliamentary faction of this political force.
