An unknown aerial object was recorded in the sky over Ukraine, as a result of which an air alert was announced, in particular, in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions.

The object type is currently being set.

This was announced by the spokesman of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yuriy Ignat, on the air of a single telethon.

"I just contacted our military authorities... Some unauthorized target was spotted, it is being established. And it is clear that when there is a target that is visible by radar, then the air alert signal will be activated," he said.

Ignat explained that, even if it is an enemy reconnaissance UAV, then anti-aircraft means can work on it, in particular, an anti-aircraft missile will be launched to shoot it down.

"That's why even if it's a reconnaissance UAV, there will be an alarm in any case, because debris is falling... It's just that the alarm doesn't go off," Ignat emphasized.

The speaker noted that experts are currently determining what kind of unauthorized air target it was.

It will be recalled that SBU counterintelligence officers eliminated a group of occupiers from a drone.
