In 2023, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine will increase the procurement of UAVs for the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the help of Ukrainian manufacturers.

It is noted that representatives of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, domestic developers and manufacturers of UAVs held a joint meeting.

It was decided that in 2023, about UAH 20 billion should be directed to this segment.

"At the meeting, it was noted that the Ministry of Defense is deepening cooperation with Ukrainian developers and manufacturers of UAVs. In particular, recently 16 state contracts have been concluded with domestic manufacturers of unmanned aerial vehicles. And thanks to the work carried out by specialists of the Ministry of Defense, Ukraine has the easiest procedure in Europe for the admission of UAVs to of exploitation in the army," the message reads.

As a result, after the introduction of a new approval procedure, which used to last one and a half to two years, and now takes a matter of weeks, in the period from November 2022 to January 2023, the Ministry of Defense received 75 applications for UAVs of various types from Ukrainian manufacturers.

It is noted that 13 of them have already received codification, technical conditions have been approved.

Another 3 types of UAVs are at the stage of codification.

"Participants of the joint meeting identified a number of tasks and steps to improve regulatory procedures. These proposals were submitted to the Coordination Headquarters for discussion by the Defense Ministry with the participation of the Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine - the Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine and the Minister of Defense of Ukraine," the Ministry of Defense noted.

We will remind you that earlier the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Valery Zaluzhnyi, decided to form the world's first UAV strike company in Ukraine within the framework of the "Army of Drones" project.
