[Reporter Ding Yi/Taipei Report] The Spring Festival holiday is coming to an end, Minister of Transportation Wang Guocai also visited Taoyuan International Airport and the Taoyuan Airport Tower of the Civil Aviation Administration's flight service center today (28th).

Taoyuan Airport Corporation pointed out that today’s estimated passenger volume is approximately 84,799 passengers and 411 aircraft takeoffs and landings, which will be the peak day during the Spring Festival transportation period. The average daily Passenger traffic was 71,010, an increase of nearly 27 times compared to the same period last year.

Wang Guocai, accompanied by Lin Guoxian, Chairman of Taoyuan Airport Corporation, and Huang Lijun, Chief Director of Aviation Service Center of the Civil Aviation Administration of China, inspected the tower and operation control center of Taoyuan Airport successively to learn more about aircraft operations, entry-exit and quarantine measures and external traffic operations.

Minister Wang Guocai said that this year is the first Spring Festival holiday after the country's borders were unblocked, and the number of flights and passengers has increased significantly. It has tested Taoyuan Airport's CIQS (customs, license inspection, personnel quarantine, animal and plant quarantine, security check, and aviation security), aviation, and ground handling. At the same time, Minister Wang also discussed and exchanged opinions with Lin Guoxian and Huang Lijun on issues such as the future development trend of the airport and the land use planning of the park.

The airport company estimates that the overall passenger volume during the Spring Festival will reach 880,296, and the number of aircraft movements will reach 4,768.

In order to speed up the efficiency of entry-exit customs clearance and transportation, the airport company also calls on passengers to make good use of smart services, take more public transportation, and abide by relevant entry-exit regulations.
