The incident occurred just after 2:30 a.m. in the 2700 block of Ellison Drive.

At least three people were killed and four others injured in a shooting in the Beverly Crest neighborhood of Los Angeles

early Saturday morning, according to police.

Authorities have not provided any information on a suspect and do not believe the general public is in danger.

The incident occurred just after 2:30 a.m. in the 2700 block of Ellison Drive, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Officers responded to multiple 911 calls of a shooting with people down.

During a news conference, Sgt. Bruce Borihanh said the shooting happened in front of a house that they believe has been used as a short-term rental.

He could not confirm if any kind of gathering or party was taking place at the time.

A senior LAPD source told ABC News that the three deceased people were found in a vehicle in the neighborhood.

Authorities initially said the fatalities were two men and one woman, but later postponed official confirmation to the Los Angeles coroner.

They have not been identified.

Borihanh said two of the injured had been taken to the hospital before officers arrived on the scene.

Two others were transported.

Two of the victims are in critical condition, the other two are stable.

It's unclear what exactly led to the shooting, authorities said.

Hundreds of people came out to protest last night in various US cities, including New York, Atlanta, Washington DC and Detroit, after the release of a video of the

violent arrest that led to the death of Tire Nichols at the hands of African-American police officers in Memphis.

At the same time, President Joe Biden and several officials in New York condemned the images.

The president said he was "outraged" after seeing the videos and asked not to resort to violence to express his "justifiable" anger, reported EFE.

“The shameful actions depicted in the posted video are an unequivocal violation of our oath to protect those we serve and a failure of basic human decency,” NYPD Commissioner Keechant Sewell said in a statement yesterday, reiterating the NYPD's support of the "peaceful protest."

In New York there were mobilizations in Union Sq and Times Sq, the latter considered the world's tourist crossroads.

Some protesters attacked NYPD patrol cars and three women were arrested.

Eric Adams, the city's mayor and former police officer, called on citizens to protest peacefully, calling Nichols' beating "outrageous."
