In the next six months, Russian President Vladimir Putin will try to make a new attempt at a decisive offensive, most likely in the Luhansk region.

This was reported by the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

"The planned offensive of the Russians will take place in the Luhansk region or in the Vugledar region of Donetsk region. The decisive strategic action in the Luhansk region can be either a major offensive or a Russian defensive operation to stop the armed forces. Kremlin insiders told Bloomberg that Putin's new offensive to return the initiative to battlefield, may begin as early as February or March," analysts say.

Experts indicate that the recent ground attacks of the occupiers in the Zaporizhia region may be aimed at dispersing Ukrainian forces and creating conditions for an offensive on Luhansk.

The Russian Federation is also redeploying parts of the 2nd motorized rifle division from the Republic of Belarus to the Luhansk region.

The new offensive of the Russian Federation is unlikely to be aimed at the northern part of Ukraine.

There are no signs that the occupiers are forming strike groups in Belarus.

The Russians mostly use Belarusian infrastructure and training capacity for training rotations, so the offensive in question is most likely to be aimed at the Luhansk region.

At the same time, it may also take place in the Vugledar region west of Donetsk.

It will be recalled that Oleksiy Danilov, the Secretary of the National Security Council, said that the Russians are preparing for

a powerful attack

on Ukraine.

This may happen in a month or two.

The representative of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Vadym Skibitskyi, also warns of a new powerful

attack by Russian invaders on the territory of Ukraine.
