In 2022, money transfers from Russia to Kazakhstan, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan reached a record level.

APA's Moscow correspondent reports with reference to RBK that in 2022 individuals sent a record amount of remittances from Russia to neighboring countries.

RBK studied the statistics of transfers to Kazakhstan, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan.

During the statistics, transfers made using the bank infrastructure, Zolotaya Korona, Unistream and Contact money transfer systems were recorded.

According to data published by the National Bank of Kazakhstan, 357 billion tenge or about 775.4 million dollars were sent from Russia to Kazakhstan in 2022.

This is the highest figure since 2014.

The indicator in dollars is 6.8 times more than the volume of remittances sent to this country in 2021.

To calculate the indicator in dollars, the average annual exchange rate of the American currency determined by the regulator of Kazakhstan was used.

The data includes only transactions made through money transfer systems and does not include transfers from one bank account to another.

In 2022, about 2 billion dollars were sent from Russia to Georgia (also through money transfer systems), which is a record volume since 2012.

The volume of remittances from Russia to Uzbekistan amounted to 14.5 billion dollars at the end of 2022.

It turned out that transfers to Uzbekistan increased 2.6 times in one year.

The Central Banks of Armenia and Kyrgyzstan have not yet published data for 2022.

According to the results of the 11th month of 2022, the volume of transfers from Russia to Armenia increased 4 times compared to January-November 2021 and reached 3.1 billion dollars.

This is a record since 2004, when relevant statistics have been kept.

The Central Bank of Armenia took into account transfers through both the banking system and money transfer systems.

In January-November 2022, individuals sent 2.6 billion dollars from Russia to Kyrgyzstan (only through money transfer systems).

This exceeds the indicators of the 11th month of 2021 by only 6%.

This is also considered a record indicator since 2005.
