Reacting to the Congress's allegation of lapse in security for Rahul Gandhi

during the Bharat Jodo Yatra,

the Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday said that the organizers did not consult him before taking any decision on stopping the yatra after 1 km.

The police further said, "The organizers and managers of the Bharat Jodo Yatra were not informed about the large crowd joining the yatra from Banihal. The crowd had gathered near the starting point itself."

It said, "There was complete security arrangement including 15 companies of CAPFs and 10 companies of JKP. These included ROP and QRT. Route domination, lateral deployment and SF was deployed on the high-ridge."

Congress had made allegations

On Friday, Congress in-charge of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh Rajni Patil alleged security lapses in the Bharat Jodo Yatra led by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and accused the union territory's administration of failing to manage the crowd.

Rajni Patil, in a tweet with a picture of the scene, said, "J&K UT Administration failed to provide security to Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Yatra. Lapse in security indicates inappropriate attitude of UT Administration." ."

"There was no security guard for 15 minutes"

All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary KC Venugopal said that there was no security personnel accompanying the Bharat Jodo Yatra for 15 minutes, and termed it as a 'serious lapse'.

Speaking to mediapersons, Venugopal said, "The security here has been mishandled by the concerned agencies. For 15 minutes, there was no security official accompanying the Bharat Jodo Yatra here. This is a serious lapse. Rahul Gandhi and others Passengers cannot walk without security."

The Bharat Jodo Yatra led by Rahul Gandhi is in its final leg of the journey in Jammu and Kashmir.

Bharat Jodo Yatra resumed on Friday morning from Banihal Railway Station, National Highway-44 in Ramban district of the Union Territory.

Security was tightened in the area in the wake of the recent twin blasts on January 22 on the outskirts of Jammu city.

There was an explosion in a busy area of ​​Narwal, in which at least nine people were injured.

The Bharat Jodo Yatra, which began in Kanyakumari on September 7, will end in Srinagar on January 30 after covering 3,970 kms, 12 states and two union territories.

On 17 January too, a security breach came to the fore at the Bharat Jodo Yatra, when an unidentified man broke through the crowd and tried to hug Rahul Gandhi at Tanda in Punjab's Hoshiarpur district.

However, Rahul Gandhi later termed her as "enthusiastic" and said that it was the enthusiasm of the people.

Earlier on January 4, the Congress had written to Union Home Minister Amit Shah alleging "security breaches" in the Bharat Jodi Yatra that entered the national capital on December 24.

Congress general secretary KC Venugopal said in a letter to the Center that the Delhi Police behaved like "mute spectators", and completely failed to control the growing crowd and maintain a perimeter around Rahul Gandhi, who was given Z+ status. Security is given.
