Five police officers in the USA are accused of involuntary manslaughter of a detainee who died as a result of a beating.

The state is preparing for protests and riots, as it was after the death of George Floyd, who also died after being detained in May 2020.

On January 7, a police patrol in the city of Memphis tried to stop 29-year-old Tyree Nichols for dangerous driving.

He refused to obey the demands of the police, which led to a chase and further detention.

Then, according to the lawyer of the Nichols family, the detainee was "beaten beyond recognition."

He was taken to the hospital in critical condition, where he died on January 10.

Following a professional investigation, all 5 law enforcement officers were soon dismissed, and the day before they were charged with second-degree murder, aggravated assault and kidnapping, as well as abuse of authority and abuse of authority.
