New Delhi:

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is once again in discussions because of his statement.

This time his statement has come about the age of women becoming mothers.

He said on Saturday that the age between 22 years to 30 years is the best to become a mother.

His statement has come after the government's decision, under which emphasis has been laid on curbing child marriage and sexual harassment of girls.

CM Sarma said that in the coming five to six months, thousands of such husbands will be arrested who married a girl below 14 years of age and later had relations with them.

It is now a crime to do so despite being married to a girl below 14 years of age.

According to the law, the marriageable age of the girl should be 18 years or above.

Action will be taken against those who have married girls of this age.

He further said that we have been talking about becoming a mother at an early age, we do not consider it right.

But if a woman does not want to become a mother even after being old, as some people have started doing now, according to me this is also wrong.

God has made our body in such a way that we can do everything properly according to age.

Let us tell you that on Monday, the Assam cabinet has decided to register a case under the POCSO Act against men who marry girls below the age of 14 years.

Those marrying girls in the age group of 14-18 years will be prosecuted under the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006.
