In the war against Ukraine, the Russian army obviously chose the tactic of burning its own manpower and weapons.

It is probably no coincidence that, for its further implementation, Putin appointed a general with a surname that is associated with a character in a famous story by the Russian classic Ivan Turgenev to lead the occupation forces.

This opinion was expressed by Andriy Yusov, a representative of the Ministry of Defense, on the air of the national telethon.

"Even the last name is telling - Gerasimov. We remember Muma and Gerasim. Well, this lady is Putin, and Mumu is the Russian army. And now this Gerasim will drown the Russian army in Ukraine," said Yusov.

According to him, losses among the "partially mobilized" occupiers are already increasing, that is, Gerasimov is successfully fulfilling "his mission".

Andriy Yusov noted that the most successful operation of Gerasim's predecessor in this position, General Sergey Surovikin, was the "evacuation" of the occupiers from Kherson, as this escape was more organized than the panic retreat from Kharkiv or Kyiv regions.

It will be recalled that the main war leaders were changed in Russia.

In particular, Russian Defense Minister Serhii Shoigu appointed Valery Gerasimov, chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, as the commander of the Joint Group of Forces in Ukraine.

Serhiy Surovikin, who held this position before Gerasimov, was appointed his deputy.

Surovikin remained in office for only three months.
