8,437 motor vehicles were checked as part of the ordered specialist police operation to comply with the Road Traffic Act.

11,143 drivers and passengers were checked.

2,146 slips and 607 acts were drawn up for established administrative violations, reports the Ministry of the Interior. 

Emphasis in the action is the prohibition of driving by drivers who have consumed alcohol, narcotic substances and/or their analogues, as well as driving of motor vehicles by unlicensed drivers.

Within the past day, a total of 14 drivers were found to have gotten behind the wheel after consuming alcohol - eight of them drove after consuming alcohol from 0.5 to 1.2 per thousand, six - with more than 1.2 per 1000, and one stopped for inspection refused to be tested.

10 people were found to be driving under the influence of narcotic substances or their analogues, and one refused to be tested.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs arrested another 18 drunk and 8 drugged drivers
