Seven killed in two attacks in Iran

Iran and Azerbaijan share a common border, and the Islamic Republic has a large ethnic Azerbaijani population.

Since the start of mass protests in Iran in September 2022, the repressive regime of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has repeatedly threatened Baku with escalation, just as it has threatened "foreign enemies" the United States, Saudi Arabia and Israel.
