The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine warned that the Russian special services are preparing another special operation to discredit the military and political leadership of the state.

This was reported in the press service of Ukrainian intelligence.

"It is known that in the near future a broad information and psychological special operation will be launched to discredit a number of representatives of the Ukrainian military and political leadership," the statement reads.

Intelligence clarified that the Russian discrediting

campaign will be directed against:

  • Serhiy Shaptala, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 

  • head of the SBU, Vasyl Malyuk, 

  • Minister of Defense Oleksiy Reznikov, 

  • Head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak,

"The purpose of IPSO is to sow uncertainty in the defense capabilities of our state among Ukrainian citizens and international partners. This, according to the Russian special services,

should cause political instability inside the country and reduce trust in Ukraine

on the part of the international anti-Putin coalition," the GUR explained.

As a reminder, NABU is investigating the Ministry of Defense's procurement of food for the Armed Forces at inflated prices. 

The White House announced the day before that possible corruption in Ukraine did not affect budget support from the US.

The representative of the White House, John Kirby, said that the United States has no confirmation that the budget or defense support of Ukraine could be somehow affected by corrupt actions in the state.
