The Kremlin is preparing for a new attack on Ukraine.

Despite heavy losses, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is confident that his occupying forces can regain the initiative after months of losing ground.

Woomberg writes about it.

"Nearly a year after a full-scale invasion that was supposed to last weeks, Vladimir Putin is preparing a new offensive in Ukraine while preparing his country for a conflict with the United States and its allies that he expects will last years. According to people close to the Kremlin , a new offensive can begin already in February or March," the newspaper writes.

In this way, the Kremlin wants to demonstrate the combat capability of its army.

Also, the Russian Federation would agree to a full armistice on the condition that the territory already occupied by Russia remains under its control.

The publication notes that Putin still remains convinced that the involvement of a larger number of troops will allow Russia to change the course of the ongoing war.

Failures and new victims, which are increasing daily, do not convince him of this.

The Kremlin is already subordinating the economy and Russian society to the needs of the war.

Therefore, a new round of mobilization in Russia is possible already in the spring.

Experts emphasize that Putin's disappointment with the situation at the front does not force him to abandon his goals.

This shows that the war will be longer, bloodier and worse for everyone.

American and European intelligence agencies doubt whether Russia will have enough resources for a new large-scale offensive.

Even the mobilization of 300,000 people last fall may not be enough.

At the same time, arms deliveries continue to increase in Ukraine.

The administration of US President Joe Biden is discussing the possibility of supplying Ukraine with F-16 fighter jets.

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius clarified that Leopard 2 tanks will be delivered to Ukraine by the end of March.

The publication also writes that Ukraine is preparing to push back Russian troops and liberate its territories.

The only question is whether Russia will launch a new offensive even before Kyiv receives the promised supplies of American and European battle tanks.

Fierce and exhausting Russian attacks in the east - near such cities as Bakhmut - exhausted Ukrainian forces and prevented them from conducting offensive operations in other directions.

American and European militaries are wary that the war unleashed by Russia could soon turn into a World War I-style artillery battle with almost non-stop frontline fighting.
