Within the framework of the 48th National Assembly, the right of choice was introduced in the electoral process for only a part of the Bulgarian citizens as to how to vote - whether with a paper ballot or with the newly introduced ballot from the machine.

This was stated by Nikola Minchev, MP from "We continue the change".

"We continue the change" and "Democratic Bulgaria

"Democratic Bulgaria" is a center-right political association, composed of filed a complaint to the Constitutional Court against changes in the Electoral Code.

This choice is only for some citizens.

The other part in sections with less than 300 voters do not have the right to vote.

This is unequal treatment of Bulgarian citizens.

And that is why we are appealing to the Constitutional Court.

The main motive of both the petitioners and the majority who supported changes to the Electoral Code is to give the Bulgarian citizens the opportunity to choose.

We see that this choice does not apply to everyone.

People in the smaller sections who have more difficulty voting and where the controlled vote is more serious - do not have a choice.

People who vote in mobile sections also do not have a choice.

This unequal treatment is the main topic that we refer to the Constitutional Court, noted Minchev.

As the second reason submitted in the complaint, Minchev highlighted the conversion of voting machines into printers for printing ballots.

The machines have to meet some standards.

The majority in parliament made the machines meaningless.

The manner in which the changes were introduced is cited as a reason in the complaint.

The constitution requires it to be passed in two readings.

It has formally passed two readings.

A total redesign between the two readings are in practice changes that have only passed through the plenary hall once, Nikola Minchev added.

According to him, the Constitutional Court will not rule before the early parliamentary elections on April 2.
