Officials of RU-Tutrakan thwarted an attempt to kill a man from the city, reports the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Silistra.

The accident was reported to tel. 112 yesterday at 6:30 p.m.

According to initial information, the noise of welding a metal gate became the reason for an argument between two neighbors.

The conflict escalated and one of the men - a 62-year-old man - fired a shot with a legally owned hunting weapon, threatening to kill his opponent.

Responding immediately to the report, the police found the two men in a struggle on the ground, with the 62-year-old holding the loaded weapon in his hands.

The intervention of the police proved decisive and the attacker was neutralized and the assassination attempt foiled.

The 62-year-old man was detained in police custody for up to 24 hours, his weapon was confiscated.

In the case, pre-trial proceedings were initiated under Art.

144, para.

3 in connection with Art. 1 of the Criminal Code.

In another case yesterday, police officers from Tutrakan prevented a suicide attempt by a man from the Danube town.

Yesterday, on tel. 112, a 61-year-old man living alone reported that he intended to end his life.

A police team responded immediately and responded to the address, where they found a man with a working circular saw in his hand, aimed at the neck and head.

Showing intelligence, the policemen immediately turned off the electric power supply to the device to stop its operation.

Despite the wounds to the skull and skin, the man's life was saved.

After receiving medical assistance on the spot, he was transported to a hospital in Ruse.
