Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with students, parents and teachers during the annual program 'Pariksha Pe Charcha'.

During this conversation, he advised the parents not to put unnecessary pressure on the children regarding marks.

Apart from advising the children not to copy, he also gave tips to maintain a balance between hard work and smart work. 

The Prime Minister said, "I urge parents not to put pressure on their children. But at the same time, students should not underestimate their abilities."

He said, "It is very natural for family members to have a lot of expectations and there is nothing wrong in that, but if family members have these expectations due to social status then it is a matter of concern."

During the discussion, a student questioned PM Modi on smart work and hard work.

The student asked, "What is more important? Smart work or hard work?"

The Prime Minister quipped, "Some people do smart work, some people do hard work. While some people do smartly hard work." He said that we should learn the nuances of these aspects and apply them for better results. Should work accordingly.

Explaining hard work and smart work, PM Modi also narrated the story 'The Thirsty Crow' to the children.

He said that all of you must have heard the story of that thirsty crow, who fills the pot with pebbles when there is less water, which makes the water rise up and he quenches his thirst by drinking the water.

So was it his hard work or his smart work.

PM Modi said, some people do hard smart work and some people smartly hard work.
