The Commission for Energy and Water Regulation (KEVR) will not increase the price of thermal energy, as the price for February, at which "Bulgargaz" will sell natural gas to final suppliers and heating plants, is expected to be below BGN 130 per megawatt hour.

This is what KEVR chairman Ivan Ivanov told journalists after the end of today's open meeting of the regulator, where a report related to the price of blue fuel proposed by the public supplier for the next month was discussed.

"Those Bulgarian citizens who use steam heating in the capital and large Bulgarian cities should be calm that until the end of the heating season there will be no change in the price. The fact that the price of natural gas in February will be nearly 30 percent lower than the current one, is good news for the industry as well, because it will provide comfort in the use of natural gas," commented Ivanov, quoted by BTA.

Ivanov also pointed out that the estimated annual price of natural gas, which the regulator determined for heating companies for this heating season, is BGN 122 per megawatt hour.

"At the end of the heating season, we will make calculations and the Commission will do everything to protect the interests of the Bulgarian citizens", the chairman of KEVR was categorical.
