The deputies accepted the veto of President Rumen Radev

Rumen Georgiev Radev is a Bulgarian military man, major general from the reserve.

Former commander of which returned for revision the changes to the Law on Energy, adopted by the 48th National Assembly on January 12, 2023.

Out of a total of 125 people's representatives who voted, only 7 voted "for", out of the required 121 votes.

"Against" were 32, and 86 abstained.

Only "We continue the change" and "Bulgarian Rise" did not support the proposal.

Radev, asked to drop one paragraph, which concerns the return of the one-hour settlement (the trading interval), instead of the 15-minute one, as it is at the moment.

This saves the state from criminal proceedings, as the 15-minute trading interval is in two Euro regulations.

Trading and schedules of producers and consumers at 15 minutes is an obligation under two European regulations and introduced by the Electricity System Operator.

The President vetoed the Energy Act

Experts comment that if the one-hour interval remains, the trade on the borders with Greece and Romania on the platforms within the "framework of the day" will end, and on an annual basis it is BGN 150 million. It's just that the Bulgarian trader presents a schedule of 1 hour, and the Romanian one - at 15 minutes, the markets diverge.

In addition, on European platforms, trading is also 15 minutes away.
