This was stated by Serhiy Grabskyi, a military expert and a participant in peacekeeping missions in Kosovo and Iraq, FREEDOM informs.

"The guys hold while Bakhmut stands. We understand how important it is to hold there. The city is important because it is our territory and because it attracts a fairly large number of opponents. This is expressed in the fact that in other areas of the front we are not we see the kind of activity we see here. It gives us the opportunity to prepare and focus to repel enemy attacks and prepare our actions. The situation is extremely difficult. But the fighting continues, the city is holding," said the military expert.

According to him, the enemy is trying to advance on the northeastern outskirts of Bakhmut.

Grabskyi called the withdrawal of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from Soledar, Donetsk region, a "conscious decision."

The expert emphasized that the Russians failed to surround our units in the city, and the Ukrainian troops retreated to occupied positions.

"The enemy continues to press. But the pressure from the north on Bakhmut is no longer as powerful as it was before. The fighting continues in the Krasnaya Gora area. The enemy is still trying to advance there. And therefore, from the northern direction, it does not look critical enough. But it must be said that with in the southern direction, in the area of ​​the village of Stupochki, active fighting is ongoing. The enemy is trying to break into the area of ​​this settlement in order to cut the route, which is the supply route with Bakhmut," concluded Serhii Grabskyi.
