Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday congratulated the countrymen on the occasion of 74th Republic Day and said that it is the responsibility of all Indians to strengthen their republic.

He said that in a republic, the rule of the people and the people is the most important thing.

India is celebrating 74th Republic Day today.

Republic Day celebrations are being organized at Kartavya Path in New Delhi under the leadership of President Draupadi Murmu.

Kejriwal said in a tweet, "Many congratulations and best wishes to all the countrymen on Republic Day.

In a republic, the rule of the people and the people is the most important thing.

Our freedom fighters have given a lot of sacrifices for the establishment of republic in India.

Now it is the responsibility of all of us to strengthen our republic.

At the Delhi government's Republic Day celebrations on Wednesday, the chief minister raised the issue of alleged "harassment" of states and union territories at the hands of governors and lieutenant governors appointed by the Centre.

He had wondered whether there was a dark shadow hovering over democracy in the country.
