"The priority for all of us is the rule of peace and stability in the South Caucasus"

APA's London correspondent reports that Zeki Hakan Sidali, a member of the Turkish delegation at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), said this during the discussion of the situation on the Lachin road.

The deputy noted that although he saw the beginning of a new year of peace and dialogue from 2020, tension in the region has been increasing in the last two months.

It is necessary to approach the issue holistically.

Looking at it from a single and biased angle, allowing double standards can lead to wrong judgments and unfair conclusions: "Today we are discussing the claims regarding the Lachin Corridor. Azerbaijani parliamentarians said that the situation is different and there is no problem with sending food products to the region. However, a very serious there is a problem of perception management. We have to be very careful about any perception that could lead to the violation of previous agreements. It does not benefit any PACE member to reverse the peace environment and normalization steps in the region. But who benefits from such behavior? We have to ask ourselves this question."

The deputy said that during the five years of his work at PACE, he witnessed the Azerbaijani delegation taking necessary and courageous steps, adhering to the values of the Council of Europe.

He said that Azerbaijan understands very well that unnecessary conflict will only bring suffering and decline to the region and humanity.
