Adhering to its strategic goal, Azercell, which launched a large-scale project on the expansion and modernization of its network in August of last year, has done a number of important works in this direction.

The leading mobile operator launched the first 5G network in Azerbaijan in test mode and put this technology into use in test mode throughout the entire Fountain Square area.

At the same time, in just 5 months, "Azercell" installed more than 100 new 4G base stations, and more than 1050 base stations were upgraded.

In addition to the capital Baku and Absheron, the newly installed base stations covered Goychay, Astara, Agdash, Gusar, Yardimli, Kurdamir, Ismayilli, Sheki, Shabran and Gabala zones.

In 2022, the leading mobile operator managed to increase the coverage of the LTE network by 6%.

As a result of the measures taken, a 40% increase in the volume of internet traffic was observed.

"Azercell" continued to expand its network in the liberated territories using the most modern technologies.

"Azercell", which focuses on environmental protection, has started applying "green" technologies in Karabakh.

The mobile operator has already launched base stations based on solar energy in Gubadli and Jabrayl and plans to increase their number to 35 by the end of this year.

At present, about 100 base stations of "Azercell" operate in Karabakh and cover Shusha, Aghdam, Fuzuli, Jabrayil, Zangilan, Gubadli and Kalbajar regions, Istisu, Hadrut, Sugovushan settlements, as well as villages of Khojavend and other regions with their network.

In Lachin region alone, the mobile operator has installed more than 10 base stations and provides mobile communication services in Zabux, Sus, as well as other villages.
