The historical center of the Ukrainian city of Odessa entered the UNESCO list of endangered world heritage.

In the application to the organization, the Ukrainian Ministry of Culture described the center of Odessa as "an exquisite achievement of urban architecture of the classical period, which has no analogue in other parts of Ukraine."

Odessa was a major tourist attraction before the start of the war.

The city has been bombed several times since the beginning of the war, reports BNT.

With UNESCO status, the city will have access to financial and technical international assistance.

In July, the glass roof of the Museum of Fine Arts, built in 1899, was partially destroyed.
