Many people returning to their hometowns in Huadong are driving northward on this day. There are more than 5,676 vehicles on the highway going north to Yilan, and it is estimated that the traffic flow going north will exceed 16,000 vehicles throughout the day. It is estimated that the Chongde northbound to Suhua entrance will be diverted and controlled in the afternoon, reminding the public to choose off-peak hours.

This morning, there was a rush of traffic going north on the Suhua Highway. From Hualien to the No. 9 Route to Sanzhanxi Huai’en Bridge in Xincheng, a super-large parking lot appeared due to the sign change. The Taroko Bridge was also crowded with traffic. Hualien Chongde entered Suhua at noon today. At the funnel-shaped entrance of the highway section, the speed dropped to only 10 kilometers per hour, and the traffic flow stopped and stopped. The Xincheng Police Station said that because the traffic tide is expected to continue to increase in the afternoon, diversion control will be activated, and the two northbound lanes will be released in turn. According to statistics from the General Administration of Highways, as of 10:00 this morning, there were 5,676 vehicles going northward from Hualien to Yilan. It is estimated that there are still more than 16,000 vehicles in the northbound direction of the Suhua Road Corridor to be digested. The control center stated that today's traffic surge has emerged ahead of schedule, calling on passers-by to plan the return journey north and choose to drive during off-peak hours.

The Maintenance and Engineering Office of the Fourth District of the General Administration of Highways stated that as of 10:00 am today, there are still 3,670 vehicles on the Suhua Road Corridor going south to Yilan to Hualien. On the 27th, the northbound traffic flow was about 13,000 vehicles per day, and the congestion period was from 9:00 to 14:00; on the 28th of the seventh day, it was about 7,900 vehicles per day, and the heavy traffic period was from 14:00 to 19:00.

The northbound lane of the Chongde section of the Suhua Highway was congested this afternoon, and the speed of the traffic remained at 10 to 20 kilometers. The police said that it is expected to start lane diversion in the afternoon, and open the two northbound lanes in turn to enter Suhua.
