Local residents were detained in the Sumy region, who exchanged hryvnias looted from Ukrainians for rubles to the Russian occupiers.

In this way, the suspects financed the Russian army of occupation.

This is reported by the SBU.

Two residents of the Sumy region supported the occupying army at the beginning of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine and offered help to the invaders.

They exchanged hryvnias stolen by the Russians in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine for rubles.

After that, these funds went to finance the Russian army of occupation.

Citizens of Ukraine had their share of the goods and hoped for the favor of the Russians in case of occupation of the region.

In total, the men exchanged and handed over approximately 10 million rubles to the Russian occupiers.

For this, they used their connections in criminal circles and underground exchangers.

The suspects were detained while trying to hand over 2 million rubles to the Russians.

Cash, mobile phones with evidence and weapons were seized from them.

For one of the suspects, the court chose a preventive measure - detention.

The case of another resident of Sumy Oblast is being resolved.

We will remind you that on January 25, the Security Service of Ukraine exposed a collaborator from Mykolaiv Oblast.

The traitor helped the occupiers sell looted property.

In Zaporizhzhia, a suspect of cooperation with the Russian occupiers was also detained.

He collected data for Russia.
