The municipal council in Sliven supported a proposal to allocate BGN 1 million in financial aid for energy audits of buildings.

At their regular meeting today, the councilors also decided to extend the deadline for applying for municipal aid - from January 27 to February 3.

"The associations will be able to prepare their documents and thus they will have a greater chance of financing under the Rehabilitation Program", the deputy mayor for construction, Kamen Kostov, commented on the decision to journalists.

He added that the municipal administration helps with the registration of the associations, with the preparation of the documentation, they also make contact with companies for energy efficiency surveys.

"It is very important to submit correct documents", he was categorical.

So far, 58 applications have been submitted, and in just two hours on Monday, 54 applications were received.

As BTA reported, the proposal was made after the great interest from condominium associations, which already on Sunday (January 22) lined up in front of the municipal administration building to keep a line for applications on the first working day of this week.

The Municipal Council decided that the Municipality will cover 50 percent of the expenses for the passports of the blocks - candidates for rehabilitation, with the planned amount being BGN 300,000 from the reserve of the Municipality of Sliven.
