In the course of the investigation, it was established that the sale of the goods bearing registered trademarks was carried out without the legally required consent of the holders of the rights to the respective trademarks - an activity qualified by the Bulgarian legislation as a crime, according to Article 172 b of the Criminal Code.

Work on documenting the overall criminal activity continues.

Another operation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the protection of intellectual property rights is part of the active measures undertaken under the action plan against this type of criminal encroachment, which is carried out within the framework of the European Multidisciplinary Platform for Combating Criminal Threats (EMPACT), for which GDBOP is the head of the European group that works to counter crimes against intellectual property, counterfeit goods and money.
