Russian troops

did not create a powerful strike group for the offensive in the Zaporozhye direction.

This was announced by the head of the United Press Center of the Defense Forces of the Tavria Region, Colonel Yevhenii Yerin, during an online briefing at the Military Media Center.

"Currently, the enemy has not created a powerful strike group that could carry out an offensive in the Zaporozhye direction," he noted.

At the same time, according to Yevgeny Yerin, airfields in occupied Crimea, which the Russian army uses for missile strikes on the territory of Ukraine and for transport aviation as a logistical chain to support its troops, pose a danger.

He also added that compulsory passporting of the population continues in Crimea for the possible further mobilization of residents for the war in the ranks of the Russian army.

We will remind, on January 19, People's Deputy, Secretary of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, SBU Colonel Roman Kostenko stated that the

Zaporizhzhia direction is key

for both the Armed Forces and the enemy.

According to the people's deputy, if the Ukrainian forces go on the offensive there and cut the enemy's troops in the direction of Melitopol-Berdyansk, it will significantly complicate the provision of the occupiers in Crimea.

On January 24, Kostenok said that

Russia was accumulating reserves in the Zaporozhye region

and was creating conditions there for a further offensive in the spring.

Today, the task of the Ukrainian defenders there is to stop the enemy in order to create conditions for the offensive of the Armed Forces.

According to military expert Serhiy Grabskyi, in recent days,

Russian troops have shown some activity

in the Zaporozhye region.

According to his estimates, the occupiers consider this direction as a distraction, and where they want to create a powerful defense to prevent Ukrainian fighters from breaking through in the direction of Melitopol.
