A butcher who worked at a slaughterhouse in the city of Sheung Shui in the Hong Kong region was killed while trying to slaughter a pig, CNN reported.

The version on which the investigators are working is that the animal turned against him, as a result of which the man injured himself with the knife he was holding in his hand.

According to initial reports, the butcher fired a stun gun to paralyze the pig.

However, the animal then recovered and pushed the worker, forcing him to stab himself with the 40cm knife.

His colleague found his body unconscious, with a huge pool of blood around him.

The man later died from his wounds.

The local Labor Agency expressed its condolences to the victim's family, explaining that the tragic case is being treated as an "occupational accident".
