Glimpses of vibrant culture were seen in the tableaux.

New Delhi:

Tableaux of many states were taken out during the Republic Day celebration parade.

A glimpse of the rich heritage was seen in the tableaux of Assam and Ladakh.

In the tableau of Assam, Lachit Borphukan, the commander of the Ahom kingdom, the famous Kamakhya temple and other cultural heritage of the state were displayed.

On the other hand, in the tableau of Ladakh, a glimpse of the picturesque view and vibrant culture of the mountainous regions of this union territory was seen.

A troupe of artists from Leh and Kargil were also seen who were about to add glamor to this tableau.

Borphukan was the general of the erstwhile Ahom kingdom, who defeated the Mughal army's attempt to capture Assam in the Battle of Saraighat in 1671.

The Central Government had celebrated the 400th birth anniversary of Bodphukan last year.

Borphukan, Kamakhya temple included in Shakti Peethas and other cultural heritage of the state were displayed in Assam's tableau on Republic Day.

The tableau of Assam depicts the replica of Shiv Dol and Rang Ghar in Sivasagar district, which is known to be the symbol of power of the Ahom kingdom.

Along with the tableau, a group of dancers equipped with traditional musical instruments performed the Bihu dance.

In the tableau taken out on the duty path, Buddha statues carved from stones based on Gandhara art of the seventh century were displayed.

There are only three statues like these statues of Kargil in the world and they are considered to be of the category of Buddha statue of Bamiyan.

The Buddha statue of Bamiyan was demolished during the Taliban regime of Afghanistan.

In the tableau of Republic Day, Ladakh proudly displayed its cultural heritage and historical places.

A total of 23 tableaux were taken out in the Republic Day parade this time.

Of these, 17 were tableaux of states and union territories and six tableaux were related to various central ministries.
