Today, January 26, the Russians launched a massive shelling of Ukraine.

A number of areas came under attack.

The cynical shelling of Odessa was the response of the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin to the decision to include the center of Odessa in the UNESCO world heritage.

This opinion was expressed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba on Twitter.

"Among the targets of today's massive missile strike, Russia struck Odesa, causing massive power outages. The destruction is Putin's response to UNESCO's decision yesterday to add Odesa to the World Heritage List and place it under enhanced protection in danger." - wrote Kuleba.

Note that the historical center of Odessa is protected by UNESCO.

This decision was made under an accelerated procedure at an extraordinary session in Paris.

For two days, representatives of the Russian delegation tried to prevent this.

But the decision, which Odesa had been working towards for more than 10 years, was made.
