The British expert told what to expect from the

war

in Ukraine, which was started by the Russian Federation led by dictator Putin, in the spring of 2023.

This was stated by security expert and former high-ranking British intelligence officer Philip Ingram in an interview with Sky News.

In his opinion, the next phase of the war between Russia and Ukraine will not be able to start in the spring because of the weather, and in particular the fact that the ground is too soft during this period.

"The next stage of the war cannot take place if the ground is too soft.

It's too swampy in early spring," he explained.

According to him, there are three areas where battles will be concentrated in case of sufficient strengthening of the area -

Zaporizhzhia, Kreminnaya district and Bakhmut

The expert also spoke about the logistical and training problem of integrating tanks received from Western countries.

He explained that it usually takes about 20 weeks to train a tank crew, but Ukrainian troops will need much less time.

What is known about the new offensive

In December 2022, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Valery Zaluzhnyi warned that the occupiers of the Russian Federation

could launch a new major offensive

to Ukraine.

According to Zaluzhnyi, this could happen in January-February or in the spring.

Ukraine is preparing for a possible new large-scale attack by the Russian Federation in the spring

, Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov confirmed.

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, in an interview published on January 23, stated that

a new offensive by the Russian Federation is possible in any direction.

Ukraine and Russia are approaching an even more

brutal and bloody stage of the war

, wrote The New York Times on January 23.

The GUR MO predicts

active battles in the Donetsk and Luhansk directions in the coming months.

Polish General Waldemar Skzypchak warned that the Russian troops are trying to open an additional front in the Zaporozhye region in order to try to draw Ukrainian reserve units into the battle.

According to him,

this is a trap.

According to military Poland,

Russia can attack Ukraine from its own territory -

from the direction of Voronezh, Kursk, Bryansk, move from there in the southern direction, west of Kharkiv, along the Vorskla River, which flows into the Dnipro.

Under this scenario

, Poltava and Dnipro are under attack.

However, Skshipchak is convinced that

Ukraine will emerge victorious from the war

, and there can be no concessions for Russia - only its isolation in the international arena.

Andrii Yusov, the spokesman of the State Administration of Defense of the Ministry of Defense, assured that despite the complexity of the tasks, the

Ukrainians are liberating their own territories at a great cost.
